  • Provide two pieces of identification (one being a photo ID)
  • Have a source of income (social assistance is accepted)

The December 6th Fund provides loans for expenses experienced as a direct result of fleeing an abusive relationship. Funds can be used towards:

  • Basic furniture
  • Storage expenses
  • Utility deposits and arrears
  • Other expenses to be approved on a case by case basis

This loan fund is not intended to cover rental arrears – if not directly related to violence.

Loans are interest free and repaid in small monthly payments by pre-authorized debit.

Applicants must be referred by a community / social service agency. Referring workers must complete the referral form and submit a letter of support. The letter must be on formal letterhead and addressed to YWCA Toronto December 6th Fund (i.e. third-party letters will not be accepted).
