Church Street Apartments

389 Church Street is a permanent Rent-Geared-to-Income (RGI) housing program for women, women-led families and gender diverse people facing multiple challenges. We offer support services for women who have experienced chronic homelessness; Indigenous women facing housing instability; homeless youth; homeless women following transitions from provincially-funded institutions and service systems such as hospitals or prisons; and women at risk of homelessness. The service model includes individual supports, community engagement opportunities, and a range of tenancy supports to create an environment where residents may experience stability, social inclusion and well-being.

Church Street is an independent living environment for single women, women with children, and gender diverse individuals. Applicants receiving income supports including Ontario Works (OW) or Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) and are eligible for RGI, can benefit from our housing with supports. Applicants must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or refugee claimants. Applicants must also wish to live in a building for women, children and gender diverse individuals and want to be part of building a healthy community.

Church Street Housing Support program offers permanent housing with on site supports for women and gender diverse individuals living with mental health and addictions. We also provide services for applicants who have been chronically homeless and may have recently left provincial institutions. Staff offer Case Management and Community Engagement activities. Through partnerships with Native Women’s Resource Centre and Inspirations Studio, we offer additional on-site programming.

Applicants must be referred through one of our existing referral partners. Our referral list includes the City of Toronto’s Coordinated Access, Margaret’s Housing, Wigwamen Housing, Elizabeth Fry and YWCA Toronto’s homeless shelters. All applications are screened through Coordinated Access to ensure eligibility requirements are met.
