Painter Decorator

YWCA Toronto is funded by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) and has partnered with the Finishing Trades Institute (FTI) and the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) to bring you a unique pre-apprenticeship training program for women and gender diverse people focused on becoming a commercial painter-decorator.

What does this program offer?

• Women and gender diverse people focused pre-apprenticeship
• Academic upgrading (math, English, and essential skills for the trade)
• Safety training and equipment
• Level 1 Certification
• Job readiness training
• Up to eight weeks placement experience after training is completed
• Supportive, highly-skilled, certified instructors
• Provide basic work tools and textbooks
• Public transportation support (if applicable)
• Ongoing support from YWCA Toronto staff
