the 28th annual Women of Distinction Awards

The 28th YWCA Annual Women of Distinction Awards presented by SunLife Financial, was a record-breaking success! YWCA Toronto thanks all of our sponsors, partners, and supporters for raising $1 million in support of more than 40 YWCA programs for women and girls across the GTA.

More than 1,700 guests were inspired by the compelling stories of the eight award recipients while learning about the important work the YWCA does to improve the lives of women and girls.

Since 1981, being selected as a recipient of a YWCA Women of Distinction Award has been an honour for women in Toronto.

YWCA Toronto's Women of Distinction Awards were created in order to celebrate publicly the achievements of Toronto area women whose contributions to other women and girls, and whose leadership on the community deserved recognition.

The first of its kind, the YWCA Women of Distinction Awards inspire others to achieve by bringing to notice the leadership of women in a variety of capacities.
