PhemPhat and Honey Jam

This year, PhemPhat and Honey Jam will enter their tennage years by holding their 13th Honey Jam Showcase held on August 10th inside the Mod Club.

Proceeds from this year's Honey Jam, will again support YWCA Toronto's programs for women and girls.

about Honey Jam
Each year, a national search is conducted by PhemPhat Entertainment Group, a non-profit organization, to seek out Canada's hottest young talent to perform in the Honey Jam concert. Over the event's 13 years, more than 200 artists have performed in front of energetic capacity crowds including Nelly Furtado, Jully Black, Michie Mee, former Canadian Idol contestants Toya Alexis and Martha Joy Lim, current Idol contestant Lisa Bell as well as Graph Nobel, Melanie Durrant and many more. The showcase is known for stellar live performances and has featured a variety of genres of music, including hip-hop, jazz, soca, R&B, gospel, rock, dancehall, blues, alternative, opera and country.

YWCA december 6 fund

On December 8th, close to 200 guests attended the YWCA December 6 Fund dinner in remembrance of the 14 young women killed on December 6th 1989, and all women whose lives have been taken by male violence; and in celebration of the ongoing generosity and perseverance of the community to end violence against women. 

This year's exciting December 6 Fund event will be held December 1, 2008 at Lula Lounge. Please visit this page again for updates, in early Fall.

A fun way to be involved in your community and raise money for a good cause.

Engaged members of the community often organize or participate in events that benefit YWCA Toronto. You can too!

Types of events may include car washes, golf tournaments, craft show sales or casual-Fridays at your place of work. Consider throwing a fundraising party or seasonal event in your home with your friends and family to support the work of the YWCA!
