YWCA REACH

Realize Employment And Career Happiness
with YWCA’s tested program for women.

A free career assessment, career planning and job search program for unemployed or underemployed women. REACH is located in North Etobicoke, and welcomes women from anywhere in the GTA.

If you’re an unemployed woman, or working less than 20 hours a week, having difficulty finding meaningful work, or choosing an appropriate career path, then YWCA REACH is the program for you!

Our vocational assessment counsellors will assist you in developing an action plan, defining a concrete, achievable career/employment goal with specific steps to reach it. Graduates of this program will receive on-going support from a job search coach through our weekly job search café. You will also have access to career resources, computers, and the internet.

Join us for an orientation to take advantage of the following programs:

vocational assessment/career planning

The Vocational Assessment Counsellors will administer a variety of vocational assessment tools that will help you to:

  • develop a better understanding of yourself
  • discover your career-related skills, abilities, interests, values, personality and temperament
  • research careers and work options
  • discover the latest labour market trends
  • learn decision-making and goal-setting skills

You will finish with a clear, concrete and achievable career goal. You can also join us for more:

job search workshop

Job search related workshops will teach you how to:

  • research the job market
  • how to market yourself
  • write effective resumes and cover letters
  • learn how to follow labour market trends
  • refine your interview techniques, and
  • explore self-employment as a career option.

Prior to beginning the program, women are asked to attend an orientation/information session held each Monday morning at 9:30 am.

You can register for orientation by calling 416.964.3883.
