Are you a woman on social assistance and feel you would have limited success in the job market?
YWCA Employment Focus helps set women on a path to economic independence! Employment Focus is an ten-week Career Assessment Employment Preparation program that assists women who are social assistance recipients with limited work experience, training and education to develop a realistic career goal and to develop computer skills. Following two weeks of self-assessments, you have the opportunity to research occupation and training opportunities available through Ontario Works. Along with a counsellor, you develop an individualized step-by step action plan outlining your assessment results and plan for training. The YWCA helps women identify their skills, interests, occupational preferences, values and personality types through a variety of exercises, workshops and vocational assessment tools. Instructor-led computer training (MS Office) is also provided through this program. available support through Ontario Works:
