As part of our direct service with women and girls, YWCA Toronto works for social change to improve the lives of those who come to us for support.

Through our presence at senior government tables, public forums, press conferences and through the development of policy papers and deputations, we advocate on the most pressing program issues in the area of violence against women, housing and women’s economic independence.

a Canada-wide campaign to protect child care

The federal election is over.
As a result, child care is at risk as never before. After 30 years of hard work, the foundation of Canada’s newest social program is on the chopping block, with cuts of almost $4 billion on the line.

Families, communities, providers, and advocates will not stand by and watch this happen.
